BIO
Vanessa Osman is a voice-over artist, actress, model and writer. She was a subject in the book, "Scarred for Life" in addition to being featured as a contributing writer for New Mobility and The HUB magazines. She can be seen in the Emmy-winning Red Bull documentary film “Any One of Us” which had its world premiere at SXSW and is available to watch on HBO.
Vanessa’s voice has always been her greatest asset. Most notably she contributed to the nationally acclaimed, award-winning radio station WERS 88.9 FM as a producer and DJ for The Gyroscope, the station's only World Music program.
In 2020 Vanessa was featured in the performance piece, “Diversity Walks & Talks" for DIVERSEartLA and took to the runaway at the 25th anniversary of the LA Art Show, the most comprehensive international contemporary art show in America. Later that same year, she became the curator and host of the first ever Los Angeles Monthly Salon, an offshoot of Boris Goldmund's The Monthly Salon (TMS). Since its inception in the 1990s, the vision has been to create and promote a global arts community for the purpose of encouraging and preserving traditional and emerging art forms. TMS has held space for both artists and art lovers throughout this difficult time by embracing a digital platform, from cities including San Francisco, Berlin, Mumbai and most recently, Los Angeles.
Vanessa works with those afflicted with spinal cord and other catastrophic injuries to help rebuild their lives as a peer mentor with the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation as well as an Ambassador for the Triumph Foundation and Artists For Trauma. Her passion for service and drive to become a leader in the community led to her being one of ten participants nationally selected for the 2022 BACKBONES SCI Leaders Program cohort. Through these support groups, mentorship programs and her artistry, she accesses both a niche population and a global audience whilst using her platform to show anything is possible.
In 2021, she began volunteering at a local ranch through one of North America’s leading innovators in Therapeutic Driving. Their mission is to enrich the lives of people with disabilities and other underserved members of the community by providing outdoor recreation, open space access, education and therapy, through a working partnership with horses. These programs serve thousands of people at more than one hundred events each year. As of 2022, Vanessa began serving on the board of the executive committee.
Most recently Vanessa was selected as a speaker at the 2025 Accessible Travel & Tourism International Conference in Dubai this October, which drew 350+ global delegates. She also consulted and brought in three new adaptive-tech exhibitors for their sister event, the 2025 AccessAbilities Expo, which welcomed 15,000+ attendees from 70+ countries with around 270 exhibitors.
Born in New Jersey and raised in Dubai, she is a graduate of Emerson College where she majored in Communications, Management and Public Policy and earned her Bachelors of Science in Speech. Vanessa currently resides in LA where she's auditioning regularly, staying fit, and writing and starring in a series with her partner.
